The Technical school
in Zajecar began with its work as a low vocational school for skilled
workers.
Till 1951 the students enrolled in this school were mostly with completed
four-year school. It was not formally equalized in its status with other
secondary schools until 1967. In 1966 the technical school with mechanical
and electrotechnical departments was founded.
At the beginning, each section had two departments of the first form with
a total number of 148 students. The integration of all secondary schools
into The Center of Specialized Training "AVNOJ" began in 1967. In the
academic year 1969/70 this school was changed into four-year secondary
school.
In 1973 The Technical school and school for Skilled Workers were united
into the Technical School Center, later named Educational-Technical Center
"29 novembar". Students were educated in accordance with the curriculum
for secondary technical school and curriculum for skilled workers.
The following professions were studied:
-mechanical vocations (skilled workers and technicians)
-electrotechnical vocations (skilled workers and technicians), textile
ones, glass manufacturing ones, ceramical ones and food industry vocations
(skilled workers). It was again changed into a separate school by decision
of Zajecar Township Assembly in 1987.
Today The Technical School is engaged in educational work and in
professional personnel training in the following spheres of activity:
1. Mechanical
engineering and metal processing

mechanical engineering-4 year training,

-automechanic,
metalworker, metalsmith, training milling machine operator and machine
maintenance worker -3 year training .

2. Professions in the field of electricity

-technician for
computers, technician for automatic transmission, technician of
energetics and technician for cooling and heating devices (4- year
training) , |

-manufacturer of
cables and electrical connections, heating and cooling devices
maintenance worker, and car electrician -3 year training..

3. Personal services

-ladies hair-dresser - 3
year training |
There are 870 students
attending this technical school. All these specialized courses are taught
by teachers, professional associates and associates in the process of
teaching.
For the realization of the process of teaching there are:
-two specialized classrooms for computer science, one for physics, one for
mechanics, one for biology and one for geography.
There are also specialized classrooms for: electronics, technical drawing,
and processing technology.
The school also has workshops for practical training in the field of
electricity, car maintenance and three workshops for mechanical
engineering and ironwork.
The school library has over 5900 books available.
